Command Line Parameters

You can start shapeXT with options most likely to change the program's behavior. You normally do this from a command prompt (Windows) or a shell (Linux). An option is a combination of the option name and sometimes one parameter.

Supported Parameters

Short Long Description
--dedicated-GPU selects the dedicated GPU for rendering
-h --help shows short list and explanation of the command line options and exits the program
--import-COD 1234567 imports a structure with the given identifier (1000000–9999999) from the COD
--integrated-GPU selects the integrated GPU for rendering
--reset resets all shapeXT settings
--software-GPU selects a virtual GPU (software rendering)
--log-to-stdout writes additional messages to stdout (terminal)
-v --version shows shapeXT version information and exits the program

Example Usage

Please note that the shapeXT installation directory might be different on your system. On Microsoft Windows the default installation path is C:\Program Files\shapeXT\. On Linux, the default installation of shapeXT can be found at /opt/shapeXT/. In case your installation path is different, the examples given here need to be adjusted accordingly.

Usage for Windows:

C:\Program Files\shapeXT\shapeXT.exe --command-line-option

Usage for Linux:

/opt/shapeXT/shapeXT.sh --command-line-option
